I will do just about anything to ensure that Circle knowledge is not lost. We will need it in the future, when the new Circles are reformed, both inside and out.

[James jerked from where he was standing outside of where the rift once stood, his jaw tight as he looked down at the message crystal hooked to his sword belt. He snatched it up, his voice firm as he called back into it.]

Lady Adelaide LeBlanc, I do not accept your damned death message. You get back here right as quickly as damned possible, or I'm coming in there after you, and you don't want to see what a Templar Knight Commander will do to the Fade! You are to stay alive, do you hear me?

[Ah now that pulls a smile out of Vivienne. He speaks of when the Circles are restored, as they must be, and not if as some do.]

You're quite right, my dear. When the Circles are restored, we shall need every shred of history and knowledge we can possible preserve.

I daresay a great deal of our current problems lie with forgotten history and information.

[And people selfishly looking to their own benefit alone but such is humanity.]

As a student of history, I can tell you that we are doomed to repeat it if we do not learn from it. I think what has happened recently is an all too real view of what happens when one side holds too much power over another, going in either direction.

[He sipped his wine again, leaning against the wall.]

Balance is only achieved when we share what we have learned, after all. And not sold it to the highest bidder.

And only if people can be shown how to be reasonable and sensible as you have. As we see with the chaos now, no one is well served by refusing to look at the full picture.

[Norrington nods his head as he shifts his glass as he speaks, careful not to spill any on the carpet.]

The more I see, the more I understand how this happened. And it horrifies me, Madame Vivienne. My brothers and sisters losing their way, the desperate acts of mages pushed to madness -- [He shakes his head again.] It was there, all the time. Tumors that needed to be removed.

[He looked over at her, green eyes firm.] We have a chance to remove them now, so that when we sew up Thedas again, the Circles and the Order will be healthy and whole again.

We've become surgeons, cutting away that would destroy us and then mending the wounds. What a lovely sentiment.

[If only repairing what ailed Thedas were as easy as painting that metaphor, apt though it is.

For that matter, if only it were so simple to restore Bastien... Her face falls ever so slightly at that thought.]

So, my dear, where shall we begin with reshaping a healthy Thedas anew?

We're heading into Weisshaupt in the morning. The Wardens say the Calling has stopped.

[Oh Thank the Maker. James grabs up his crystal, his tone sounding slightly rushed.]

At least fifty or more members of the Inquisition fell into a Rift, and they just started to come out of it again. They apparently killed the Nightmare demon ... and according to the Wardens here, that stopped the Calling.

Well- I suppose it's maybe better to have killed it in the Fade? But. Creators.

The rift opened wider than anyone expected. Dozens were swept in before we knew it, and the rift closed behind them.

[He makes a face.]

...I would have preferred we had some way to get them out, but yes it did stop a great deal of ... problems.

Are there Rifters with them? Maybe they can open one from inside the Fade, if they have to.

Otherwise- well, there has to be another Rift somewhere. They just... have to survive the Fade.

There are several rifters with them -- so they should be able to open one on the other side.

[He sighed quietly.] I am ... concerned, though. About their safety. I have been praying for their return. I am also praying for yours.
